Steel and granite transport
Dense, concentrated, unforgiving loads. Steel sections and plate, and granite blocks and slabs out of the Brits quarries. Chained down, blocked with dunnage and planned around axle loading rather than deck space.
Steel and stone are the loads where planning matters most. Both concentrate enormous weight into a small footprint, so a deck that looks half empty can already be at the legal axle limit. A block that is not properly blocked and chained will move.
We carry steel sections, plate and tube, and granite blocks and slabs for quarry and factory clients in the North West, including Satim Granite and Bestaf Granite Factory in Brits. These loads travel on chains over dunnage, with the weight positioned deliberately across the axle groups.

How we protect it
Securing and handling
Regular running out of Brits and the North West into Gauteng, with nationwide delivery on request.
- Chains, not just strapsSteel and stone get chain restraint. Webbing alone is the wrong tool for a load that can cut it.
- Dunnage and blockingHardwood dunnage under the load and chocks at the faces, so blocks and plate cannot slide or roll.
- Axle-first load planningWith dense freight the axles run out of capacity long before the deck does. We plan for that before loading, not at the weighbridge.
- Watched in transitFour cameras per vehicle plus live tracking, so a high-value load is never simply out of sight.

Answers
Questions we get about steel & granite transport
How are granite blocks secured for transport?
Blocks sit on hardwood dunnage, are chocked at the faces so they cannot slide, and are held with chains rather than webbing alone. The weight is positioned deliberately over the axle groups, because a granite load reaches its legal axle limit long before the deck is full.
Do you carry loads that need crane offloading?
Yes. An open flatdeck can be lifted from above, which is usually how steel and stone come off. Confirm that a crane or suitable heavy forklift is available at the delivery point and we will present the deck accordingly.
Is high-value steel insured in transit?
Every load we carry is covered by Goods-in-Transit insurance, and we will supply the certificate on request before you release the freight.
