Service 01
Flatdeck and superlink transport across South Africa
Our core service: tandem superlink flatdeck combinations pulled by Mercedes-Benz Actros 6×4 truck tractors, moving palletised and heavy industrial freight between plants, mills, depots and sites nationwide.
Flatdeck transport moves cargo on an open deck rather than inside an enclosed body, so it can be loaded and offloaded from the side or from above by forklift, crane or front-end loader. A superlink is two linked flatdeck trailers, a shorter front link and a longer rear link, pulled by one truck tractor, giving far more deck length and payload than a single trailer.
Letsema TM Logistics runs superlink flatdeck combinations with roughly 18 m of usable deck across the two links. That suits palletised, bagged, banded and blocked freight that is heavy, awkward or simply too much for a single trailer. Bricks, cement, timber packs, steel sections, granite blocks and bagged agricultural product.

How we protect it
Securing and handling
Gauteng, Limpopo, North West and Mpumalanga are our busiest corridors, but the combinations run nationwide.
- Rated straps and chainsRatchet straps for palletised and banded freight; chains where steel or stone needs a hard restraint.
- Corner plates and edge protectionCorner plates spread strap tension so bricks, blocks and bagged product are not crushed at the edges.
- Tarpaulins and netsTarps keep cement and timber dry; nets contain bagged loads and loose surface material in transit.
- Load planning before dispatchWeight is placed to keep axle loads legal and the combination stable, not just to fill the deck.

Answers
Questions we get about flatdeck & superlink transport
How much can a superlink flatdeck carry?
A superlink flatdeck combination typically carries up to about 34 tonnes of payload, depending on the tare of the combination, how the weight sits across the axles and the legal limits on the route. We confirm the exact payload for your load before we commit to a rate.
What is the difference between a superlink and an interlink?
Both are two-trailer combinations. A superlink couples the rear link to a fifth wheel on the front link, so the two trailers are separable and each has its own bogie. In practice, for the shipper, the important points are the same: roughly 18 m of deck and a payload well above a single trailer.
Can you load with a forklift or a crane?
Yes. An open flatdeck can be loaded from either side by forklift or from above by crane or gantry. Tell us how the load will be handled at both ends and we will make sure the deck is presented correctly on arrival.

Most of our clients move more than one of these. One carrier, one rate conversation, one set of paperwork.

Send the collection and delivery points, approximate tonnage and how it is packaged. You will have a written rate back, usually the same working day.
