Brick, cement and building material transport

Palletised bricks, paving, blocks and bagged cement moved from plant to yard, depot or site, tarped against the weather and strapped so the pallets arrive intact.

Building materials are dense, heavy and easy to damage. A pallet of bricks is close to a tonne on its own; bagged cement is ruined by a single wet trip. Both punish a badly planned load.

We move bricks, paving, blocks and cement on superlink flatdecks with the full securing kit. Corner plates so straps do not bite into the top course, tarpaulins over anything moisture-sensitive, and weight placed so the axles stay legal from the plant weighbridge to the delivery gate. We already run this work for cement and aggregate producers including AfriSam in Roodepoort and Mamba Cement in Thabazimbi.

How we protect it

Securing and handling

Regular running between Gauteng, Limpopo and North West, including Roodepoort, Thabazimbi, Brits and the Pretoria and Centurion corridor.

  • Tarped end to endCement travels under tarpaulin. Wet cement is a write-off, and it is not a risk worth taking on an open deck.
  • Corner plates on every strapStrap tension is spread across the pallet edge so the top course is not crushed or chipped in transit.
  • Weighbridge disciplineLoads are planned to stay inside axle limits, so you are not the one carrying an overload fine.
  • Booked delivery slotsMerchant yards and sites run on slots. We plan around your offload window rather than arriving and waiting.

Questions we get about brick, cement & building material transport

Do you tarp cement loads?

Yes. Bagged and palletised cement travels fully tarped as standard. There is no upside to gambling on the weather with a product that is destroyed by moisture.

Can you deliver bricks directly to a construction site?

Yes, provided the site can take a superlink combination and can offload it. A superlink needs room to manoeuvre and a firm surface. If access is tight, tell us up front and we will discuss options before the load is dispatched.

How many bricks fit on a load?

It depends on the brick and the pallet configuration, but weight is almost always the limit before space is. With a payload of roughly 34 tonnes, a standard stock brick load is usually in the region of 10 000 to 12 000 bricks. Send us the brick spec and pallet weight and we will confirm exactly.

Send the collection and delivery points, approximate tonnage and how it is packaged. You will have a written rate back, usually the same working day.
